Testimonies end in 3 cases against Hasina, family

The ACC today concluded the recording of the testimonies of 56 people in three separate cases against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul and 47 others on charges of allocating 30 kathas of government land in the Purbachal New Town project by abusing power, confirmed Public Prosecutor of ACC Mir Ahmed Ali Salam to BSS.

However, nine people were testified in two separate cases before the Court of Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka's Special Judge's Court-5 today.

But, no witness appeared before the court today in the ACC case against Putul. The court also fixed October 15 as the next date for recording the testimony.

Of them, five have been testified in the case filed against 12 people, including Sheikh Hasina. They are - Chief Adviser office’s motor cleaner Mohammad Ujjal Hossain, Housing and Public Works Ministry’s typist Kamrunnahar, administrative officer Md Rafiqul Islam and computer operator Mukti Tarafder and Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah.

Meanwhile, four people have been testified in the case filed against 17 people, including Sheikh Hasina and her son Joy.
 
They are- Sub-Registrar of Kaliganj in Gazipur Zahidur Rahman,  Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) senior assistant-cum-accountant Taiba Rahim, Gazipur (Sadar) Record Room sub-registrar Mahbubur Rahman and former Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Mezbahur Rahman. 

Earlier on January 14, ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin filed a case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and eight others, on charges of abusing state-power to obtain a 10-katha government plot from the Purbachal New City project. 
 
After investigating the case, on March 10, Investigation Officer (IO) Assistant Director of ACC Afnan Jannat Keya submitted a chargesheet to the court against 12 people. 

Apart from Sheikh Hasina, the other 11 accused in the case are - Housing and Public Works Ministry’s Senior Assistant Secretary Purbi Goldar and former RAJUK chairman’s PA Md Anisur Rahman Miah, former RAJUK members - Shafi Ul Haque, Khurshid Alam, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Major (Eng.) Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury (retd.), Deputy Director Nayeb Ali Sharif, Housing and Public Works Ministry’s Administrative Officer Md Saiful Islam Sarker, Secretary Kazi Washi Uddin, Secretary Shahid Ullah Khandaker and former State Minister Sherif Ahmed.  
On January 14, ACC Assistant Director SM Rashedul Hasan filed a case against 15 people, including Sajeeb Wazed Joy and his mother Sheikh Hasina, on charges of obtaining a 10-katha government plot in the Purbachal New Town project by abusing state-power.

Later, IO of the case Assistant Director of ACC SM Rashedul Hasan submitted a chargesheet before the court against 17 people on March 10. 

Apart from Sheikh Hasina and Joy, the other 15 accused are - Housing and Public Works Ministry’s Administrative Officer Md Saiful Islam Sarker, Senior Assistant Secretary Purbi Goldar, Secretary Kazi Washi Uddin, Secretary Shahid Ullah Khandaker, former RAJUK chairman’s PA Md Anisur Rahman Miah, former members Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Tanmoy Das, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Major (Eng.) Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury (Retd.), Assistant Director Mazharul Islam, Director Kamrul Islam, Deputy Director Nayeb Ali Sharif, Member Md  Nurul Islam, former Prime Minister's Private Secretary-1 Mohammad Salah Uddin and  former State Minister Sherif Ahmed. 
 
On January 12 this year, ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya filed a case against Sheikh Hasina, her daughter Putul and 16 others in connection with the 10-katha plot fraud in Purbachal here, reports BSS.
