Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has suggested that national elections should be held in either February or April, given the current state of the country.

He emphasized that February, before the onset of Ramadan, would be an ideal time. However, if necessary reforms and visible justice processes fail to earn public trust by then, elections should be conducted no later than April.

Rahman made these remarks during a conference of the party’s district and city unit ameers at the Al-Falah Auditorium in the capital on Saturday.

He also highlighted practical concerns regarding the weather and Ramadan, noting that since Ramadan will begin at the end of February and extend into March, elections during that period would not be feasible.
