A Dhaka court on Sunday extended the deadline for submitting the arrest report against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana's children Radwan Mujib Siddiq and Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, and 18 others, setting the new date for May 12.

The case concerns allegations of abuse of power and the illegal allotment of 30 kathas of land from the Rajuk's Purbachal New Town Project. The Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib set the new date after the police failed to submit the report on Sunday.

Arrest warrants were initially issued on April 13 after the accused were found to be absconding.

Three separate cases have been filed, with Sheikh Rehana, Radwan Mujib Siddiq, and Azmira Siddiq named as the main accused. Sheikh Hasina and Tulip Siddiq have been named as co-accused in each of the cases.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the cases on January 13, accusing the defendants of securing plots through the misuse of power. Chargesheets were filed on March 10, expanding the list of individuals implicated based on further investigation.

Earlier, arrest warrants were also issued against Hasina, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and son Sajeeb Wazed Joy in relation to similar corruption cases involving Rajuk land plots.
