BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings virtually with party leaders, including those from the standing committee, central committee, and affiliated organizations. The event took place at 9 pm on Monday, with Khaleda joining from London via video call.

The meeting, held at the Chairperson's office in Gulshan, featured a large screen displaying Khaleda’s connection from London. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Standing Committee member Professor AZM Jahid Hossain were also present during the virtual exchange.

Tarique Rahman extended his Eid greetings to the party leaders, while senior party officials, including General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other standing committee members, participated in the event.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir conveyed Eid Mubarak to the Chairperson, and Khaleda later joined in a special prayer for her swift recovery.

Following her conditional release from jail and the onset of the pandemic, Khaleda had continued the tradition of exchanging Eid greetings with party leaders at her residence in Gulshan. However, after traveling to London on January 8 for medical treatment, she celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with her family at her son’s house.

In her message, Khaleda Zia urged the people of Bangladesh to remain united in the struggle for voting rights. “Your sacrifices and struggles have not been in vain, and we must remain united to restore democracy and the voting rights of the citizens,” she said emotionally.

She concluded the virtual greetings exchange by sending her Eid Mubarak to the people of Bangladesh and asking for prayers for her and the country’s future.
