Army Chief Meets Chief Adviser Prof. Yunus

Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman paid a courtesy visit to Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna today.


During the meeting, General Waker briefed the Chief Adviser on the country’s overall security situation and the army's ongoing activities, according to a statement from the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The two leaders discussed various measures taken by the army to support national development and ensure stability. The Army Chief also shared insights from his recent visit to the Central African Republic, expressing hope that the trip would enhance bilateral relations and military cooperation between the two nations.

In addition, General Waker-Uz-Zaman updated the Chief Adviser on recent reviews and recommendations concerning justice for previously deprived army officers, as well as progress in the senior-level board evaluating the cases of dismissed Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and other ranks.

The Army Chief also briefed Prof. Dr. Yunus on the Bangladesh Army’s efforts to provide medical care to students and civilians injured during the July-August mass uprising.

The Chief Adviser commended the army's role in the country’s security and stability, offering guidance for future operations. He expressed confidence that the army would continue to carry out its duties with professionalism and dedication, ensuring the country’s sovereignty and security, the ISPR release concluded.
