The National Consensus Commission aims to initiate talks with political parties and reach a swift agreement to formulate a 'National Charter,' said the commission's vice-chairman, Prof. Ali Riaz, on Monday.

He made the statement during a press conference at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the morning.

In response to a question, Ali Riaz explained that constitutional amendments could be made through ordinances, as has been done in Bangladesh's past.

Commission members Badiul Alam Majumdar, Iftekharuzzaman, Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, Safar Raj Hossain, Emdadul Haque, and Chief Adviser's Special Assistant (Consensus) Monir Haider were also present at the press briefing.
