Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter has emphasized that the current interim government is committed to the development of the entire country, not just a specific region. She stated that advisers in the interim government are dedicated to fulfilling their duties rather than seeking power.

Akhter made the remarks during her address at the ‘Mejban and Chattola Fest-2025,’ organized by the Greater Chattogram Samiti, Gazipur chapter, at Pubail.

"We, the advisers of the interim government, are not here for the people of Chattogram alone. We are serving all of Bangladesh, working to fulfill our responsibilities, not to enjoy power," she said.

She also highlighted the importance of preserving the Chattogram dialect, noting its rich vocabulary influenced by English, Arabic, Portuguese, and Arakanese. Furthermore, she pointed out the uniqueness of Mohskhali’s betel leaf, which is a Geographical Indication (GI) product, distinct from those found in other regions of the country.

The event was also attended by Adviser for Religious Affairs A F M Khalid Hossain, Samiti President Mohammad Sohel Sadat, General Secretary Dr. Debojit Roy, and Adviser Panel Chairman Sahidul Islam Jhinuk.
