BNP Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi
"Sheikh Hasina has systematically sold out Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty to India," Rizvi stated. "After losing power due to mass student and public movements, she resorted to corruption—embezzling funds in the name of the Padma Bridge and Metrorail projects, siphoning off the money abroad."
At a memorial event on Wednesday, held at Taherpur High School in Bagmara Upazila, Rajshahi, to mark the 23rd death anniversary of Professor Abdul Wahed Mandal, Rizvi further accused Hasina of treating public money as her own personal and family wealth. "She unlawfully acquired government land and amassed untold riches under the names of her family members."
Rizvi also highlighted the violence and repression faced by BNP leaders and supporters, pointing to enforced disappearances, killings, attacks, and politically motivated lawsuits facilitated by the state's machinery. "Sheikh Hasina has clung to power by force, but even she will not escape accountability in the end."
The event was chaired by Taherpur Municipality BNP President Shamsur Rahman Mintu, and attended by BNP Central Committee Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam and other prominent party figures.
