After conducting two-day interviews for the reserved women’s seats in the National Parliament, BNP has confirmed the nomination of 36 people.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi gave this information on Monday (April 20).
Rizvi said that the members of the national committee conducted two-day interviews to nominate the reserved women’s seats. After the interviews, the nomination board nominated 36 people.
The nominees are: Selima Rahman, Shirin Sultana, Rasheda Begum Hira, Rehana Akhter Ranu, Newaz Halima Early, Mosammat Farida Yasmin, Bilkis Islam, Shakila Farzana, Helen Zerin Khan, Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Zeba Amin Khan, Mahmuda Habiba, Sabira Sultana, Sansila Zebrin, Sanjida Islam Tuli, Sultana Ahmed, Fahmida Haque, Anna Minj, Suborna Sikder, Shamim Ara Begum Swapna, Shammi Akhter, Ferdousi Ahmed, Bithika Binte Hussain, Suraiya Zerin, Mansura Akhter, Zaharat Adib Chowdhury, Momtaz Alam, Fahima Nasrin, Arifa Sultana, Sanjida Yasmin, Shawkat R. Akhter, Madhavi Marma, Selina Sultana and Rezeka Sultana.
Earlier, BNP interviewed candidates for the reserved women's seats in parliament at the chairman's office in Gulshan in the capital on Friday and Saturday. The nomination board was chaired by the Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
According to party sources, a total of 1,025 nomination forms were sold, but about 900 people submitted them.
