Two criminals held with arms in Rajshahi

Members of Bangladesh Army, in a drive, arrested two alleged criminals of ‘Six Star Group’ along with arms from Mathurapur in Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi district on Friday.


The arrestees were identified as Abdul Halim, 29 and Abu Bashar, 27 of Mathurapur under Taherpur municipality.

Tipped off, a team of Bangladesh Army, led by Major Asif Raihan, in-charge of Bagmara army camp, conducted a drive in the area and  arrested them along with a rifle and a walkie-talkie, said Saidul Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Bagmara Police Station.

They were active members of ‘Six Star Group’, a criminal group that emerged in Taherpur area after August 5, 2024, reports UNB. 

The arrestees were handed over to Bagmara Police Station.
