This appointment follows the resignation of former Information Adviser Nahid Islam, who stepped down from his position the previous day. In response, Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus swiftly appointed Alam to the role.
Though Alam took the oath of office as an adviser on November 10 last year, he had not been assigned a specific portfolio until now. His appointment comes after Nahid Islam's resignation was formally accepted by the President.
Before his current role, Alam served as Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, a position he held since August 28, shortly after the formation of the interim government. Alam is a graduate of the Law Department at Dhaka University.
