The Bangladesh Army has carried out a significant reshuffle in several senior leadership positions, according to a circular issued Sunday by the Ministry of Defence.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Mainur Rahman, General Officer Commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC), has been appointed Chief of General Staff at Army Headquarters.

Brigadier General Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury, previously serving at Army Headquarters, has been named Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), the country’s premier military intelligence agency.

Major General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman, former General Officer Commanding of the 24th Infantry Division, has been appointed Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division.

Meanwhile, the incumbent Principal Staff Officer, Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to serve in a diplomatic role.

The reshuffle is seen as a routine but important realignment of top command positions within the armed forces.
