10 different vaccines arrives in country

A new consignment of 10 different vaccines including Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and oral polio vaccine (OPV) reached in the country.


Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Husain received the vaccine consignments at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here today.

Along with measles, mumps, rubella and polio vaccines, the consignment also contains BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin), pentavalent vaccine, Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) and Typhoid vaccines.

After receiving the vaccines consignment, the health and family welfare minister said a total of 15 lakh doses of measles vaccines have reached to the country and in future there is no possibility of any vaccine crisis in the country.

The government has created a new history to import the vaccines within 24 days, said the minister, adding that a total of 1.8 crore doses of 10 different vaccines including measles will reach the country by May 10, reports BSS.
