World Meditation Day was observed this morning in Dhaka with a large gathering highlighting the importance of mental well-being and inner balance.

The programme, held at the Jatiya Press Club premises, was organised by Quantum Foundation and began at 7:00am. Thousands of participants from diverse backgrounds joined the event, which opened with a collective affirmation followed by a period of silent meditation.

In recorded messages, Quantum Foundation Director General Madam Nahar El Bukhari thanked participants for their presence, while Gurujee Shahid El-Bukhari, Mahajataq and founder of the Quantum Method, reaffirmed the message that “when the mind is well, everything is well.”

Speakers at the event discussed the growing mental health challenges posed by modern digital lifestyles and stressed that regular meditation can help restore balance, focus and emotional well-being.

Former government secretary Dr Mohammad Abdul Majid and other guests shared personal reflections on the benefits of meditation in daily life.

World Meditation Day was also observed simultaneously at more than 100 locations across the country, including Chattogram, Rajshahi, Barishal, Khulna and Sylhet.

Organisers expressed hope that the observance would encourage more people to embrace meditation as a path toward a healthier, calmer and more peaceful life.
