DMP arrests 71 during raid at Mohammadpur, Adabor

Dhaka, 22 Mar  – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 71 individuals involved in various "criminal activities' during special operations in crime-prone areas under the Mohammadpur and Adabor police stations on Saturday.

Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, said 51 individuals were arrested following a four-hour raid in the Rayer Bazar, Gotgat, Lautala, Geneva Camp, and Taj Mahal Road areas of Mohammadpur, which began at 8 am.

Meanwhile, 20 people were arrested in separate raids conducted in the Shekhertek, Shyamoli Housing Project, Adabor, Sunibir Housing, and Mehedibagh areas if the Adabor Police Station.

The individuals arrested included identified drug dealers, professional robbers, thieves, extortionists, and criminals involved in various other offences, the DMP DC said.

Legal action was underway against the arrestees, he added.
