The government of Bangladesh has strongly condemned the recent escalation of Israeli military aggression in the Gaza Strip, expressing deep concern over the mounting violence that has claimed the lives of numerous innocent civilians, including women and children.

In a press release issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the devastating impact of the renewed attacks, which have further worsened the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region.

Bangladesh decried the ongoing Israeli airstrikes targeting densely populated civilian areas, calling these actions a clear violation of international humanitarian law and existing ceasefire agreements. The government urged Israel to immediately halt all military operations, exercise maximum restraint, and comply with its obligations under international law.

Bangladesh also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take swift and decisive action to end the hostilities, protect civilian lives, and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need within Gaza.

Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Bangladesh reiterated its stance on the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The government stressed the urgent need to resume diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, viewing such efforts as essential for both regional and global stability. Bangladesh called for all parties involved to prioritize diplomacy and peaceful negotiations to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and ensure a sustainable solution to the conflict.

Bangladesh further reaffirmed its commitment to working with the international community to find a comprehensive and durable resolution to the Palestinian issue, in accordance with international law, UN resolutions, and the aspirations of the Palestinian people for peace, dignity, and justice.
