Dhaka, 17 March - The much-anticipated wait of the country's football fans has finally come to an end as Bangladesh-origin English Premier
League footballer Hamza Chowdhury has landed at the Sylhet Osmani
International Airport Monday morning.
The star footballer, who landed at about 11.50 am in the airport, is
scheduled to move towards his ancestral village in Habiganj this afternoon
for a long-awaited homecoming, after completing the formality in the airport.
Upon his arrival in Sylhet, the Sheffield United footballer was also welcomed
by his family. Football officials welcomed Hamza in the airport.
Hamza is expected to spend two days in his ancestral village in Habiganj and
expected to join with the national football team on Tuesday night.
Many football supporters have gathered outside Sylhet airport to catch a
glimpse of Hamza. Some stand with banners. Local and national media personnel
have also gathered at the airport.
Sheffield United midfielder Hamza Choudhury has arrived to make his much
coveted debut for the Bangladesh National Football Team in the AFC Asian Cup
2027 qualifiers third-round match against India on March 25 at Jawaharlal
Nehru Stadium in Shillong.BSS
