Dhaka, 3 March —Shamim Patwari blazed with an incredible 83 ball-98 not out as Prime Bank Cricket Club recovered from a shaky start to secure a three-wicket victory against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at BKSP-4 ground today.

Put into bat first, Rupganj posted a moderate 216 before being all out in 48.4 overs, riding on
half-century from opener Abdul Majid who hit a patient 73 ball-53 with four fours and two
sixes.

Tanir Hyder was the other notable scorer with 47. Mahmudul Hasan added 28 and captain Al
Amin Junior scored 18.

Left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and medium pacer Nahidul Islam claimed three wickets apiece
to deny Rupganj a big total. Pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed, however, complemented them with 2-
41.

But Prime Bank experienced a sensational batting collapse that left them 113-7 before Patwari,
ably supported by Syed Khaled Ahmed, drove the side to victory with 220-7 in 32.4 overs.

The rot began with Naim Sheikh and Sabbir Hosan, the two openers who were dismissed in the
very first over. Shahadat Hossain Dipu kept the scoreboard rolling rapidly with aggressive
batting show but Prime Bank kept losing wicket due to the players’ reckless shot.

Dipu finally was dismissed on 54 off 39 after smashing six fours and two sixes. His dismissal
seemed to have ruined the prospect of Prime’s victory.

But Patwari turned the table emphatically. He and Khaled shared 107 runs in an unbeaten
eighth wicket to leave Rupganj Tigers in a state of disbelief.

Patwari struck 10 fours and four sixes in his 83 ball-98 not out while Khaled was unbeaten on 28.BSS
