If Bangladesh lags behind, others will view the country with sympathy in the current global context, he said adding that Bangladesh must enhance its capacity to compete globally.

The minister said over the next five years, the government will work sincerely, utilizing every single day to strengthen Bangladesh’s position on the global stage.

He said investment is the prerequisite for creating job and it is necessary to improve communication infrastructure, reduce bureaucratic red tape, and ensure political stability to create a supportive investment environment.

The minister also said special policy support is needed for expatriate and domestic investors in Sylhet and work is underway in this regard. Visible progress will be seen very soon.
