A major fire broke out at the Aminbazar 400/230 kV Substation in Savar on Tuesday morning, raising concerns over power supply and safety in the area. The blaze, which started at around 7:15 am, quickly spread through parts of the substation, prompting emergency response teams to rush to the scene.

Firefighters and rescue personnel were immediately deployed to tackle the situation. Nine firefighting units, including specialized teams, have been working tirelessly to bring the fire under control. According to Jewel Mia, the officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but authorities are treating the incident with urgency given the potential threat it poses to power distribution in the region.

"Efforts are being made to prevent further damage, and we are coordinating closely with the fire department and the power authorities," Mia said in a statement. "We are doing everything we can to control the fire and ensure the safety of the public."

Authorities have also issued warnings to nearby residents and businesses to stay alert in case of any further hazards related to the fire. As of now, no casualties have been reported, but the damage to the grid infrastructure is significant.

The incident has caused disruptions in power supply to some areas, though authorities are working to restore normalcy. The fire also comes at a time when the region is already facing challenges related to power demand.

In related news, a separate fire at the Liberation War Museum in Savar, which broke out around the same time, was quickly doused without causing significant damage or casualties. Firefighters responded swiftly to the museum fire, which was contained within a short period.

The cause of the fire at the Aminbazar Substation remains under investigation, and power restoration efforts are ongoing as officials aim to minimize the impact on the local population and businesses. Authorities have reassured the public that they are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
