The government has appointed Hossain Sadat, president of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB), as a commissioner of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for a four-year term.

The Financial Institutions Division (FID) under the Ministry of Finance issued a notification on Sunday confirming the appointment.

According to the notification, Sadat has been appointed under Section 5 of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Act, 1993.

He will serve as a commissioner for four years from the date of joining office.

The notification said Sadat will assume the post after relinquishing his employment and affiliations with all other institutions and organisations, reports BSS.

The order, issued in the public interest, took immediate effect, the notification added.
