Amid rising tensions in the Middle East and concerns over potential disruptions to Bangladesh’s fuel imports, eight fuel-laden vessels have arrived safely at Chattogram Port.

Port authorities said the ships anchored at the country’s main seaport on Sunday morning (March 8). The vessels had already crossed the Strait of Hormuz before February 28, ensuring safe passage despite growing uncertainty in the region.

Chattogram Port Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim confirmed that the tankers carrying oil and gas reached the port without any disruption.

Meanwhile, amid fears of a possible decline in global fuel supply, the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) on Friday imposed limits on the sale of fuel oil in the domestic market as a precautionary step.
