Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed assured today that the government is actively monitoring the market to prevent price hikes of essential commodities ahead of Ramadan.

Speaking to journalists after the 65th meeting of the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) Board of Directors in Savar, Dr. Salehuddin emphasized that the government is importing and stockpiling key items like rice and pulses while closely monitoring the market to curb any price manipulation by traders.

He further stated that the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure price stability during the holy month. On energy supply, Dr. Salehuddin reassured the public that the likelihood of load shedding during Ramadan is minimal, thanks to sufficient gas and energy resources.

Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Dr. Mokhlesur Rahman were also present at the event.
