
Alleged drug dealer arrested in Kalapara with yaba pills.
Patuakhali: Police have arrested a drug dealer named Md. Bellal Hossain Howlader alias Billu (41) with 93 pieces of Yaba tablets in Kalapara, Patuakhali. Sensing the presence of the police at that time, his two accomplices escaped from the scene.
He was arrested on Monday afternoon from the mud road in front of Ayesha Siddika (R.A.) Jame Mosque in Nayapara area of Latachapoli Union of Mahipur Police Station. The arrested accused was sent to Kalapara court this Tuesday (August 11) morning
The arrested Bellal Hossain Howlader is the son of the late Ali Akbar Howlader of Alipur No. 3 ward of Mahipur Police Station. On the other hand, the absconding accused are - Al Amin Khalifa (42), son of Abdul Khalek Khalifa of Nayapara area, and Md. Ruman (22), son of Amir Fakir.
According to police sources, a special operation team of Mahipur police station conducted an operation in Nayapara area based on secret information. While he was on a mud road with the intention of buying and selling Yaba, Bellal was arrested with the help of local people. Later, his body was searched and 93 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered. However, two other associates who were with him during the operation managed to escape from the scene.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahipur police station Md. Shamim Hawlader said, "Based on secret information, a person named Bellal was arrested with Yaba. A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against Bellal, who was arrested in this incident, and two other absconding persons. The arrested accused has been sent to court this morning." - Gofran Palash
