In the 24-hour period leading up to Monday morning, 22 new dengue cases have been reported across Bangladesh, bringing the total number of infections this year to 1,759, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The newly confirmed cases are distributed as follows: six in Barishal Division (Outside City Corporation areas), nine in Chattogram Division (Outside City Corporation areas), five in Dhaka Division (Outside City Corporation areas), and one each in Dhaka South and Dhaka North City Corporations.

Despite the uptick in cases, the death toll from dengue remains at 13, with no new fatalities recorded during this period.

Currently, 99 individuals are receiving treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. The situation remains under close monitoring by health authorities.

In 2024, Bangladesh faced a significant dengue outbreak, which resulted in 575 deaths. That year, the total number of reported dengue cases was 101,214, with 100,040 recoveries.

As the mosquito-borne disease continues to spread, health experts emphasize the importance of ongoing prevention efforts, including fogging operations and public awareness campaigns to curb the growing number of cases.
