In the 24-hour period leading up to Saturday morning, 11 new dengue cases were reported, pushing the total number of infections for the year to 1,529, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new cases were distributed across various regions: six in Barishal Division (outside the City Corporation), three in Chattogram Division (outside the City Corporation), one in Dhaka North City Corporation, and one in Dhaka South City Corporation.

Despite the rise in cases, the number of dengue-related deaths remained unchanged at 13, with no new fatalities reported during this time frame.

As of now, 69 dengue patients are receiving medical treatment in hospitals across the country.

The situation highlights the ongoing threat posed by dengue, which claimed 575 lives last year. In 2024, there were 101,214 reported cases, with 100,040 recoveries, according to the DGHS.

The public health situation continues to warrant close monitoring, with experts urging continued vigilance and preventive measures.
