Lightning strike kills one, injures another in Manikganj
Lightning strike
Manikganj, Feb 22 - A farmer was killed, and his elder brother was injured in a lightning strike in Saturia upazila of Manikganj on Saturday evening.
The deceased Zahid Hasan and his injured brother Zakir Hossain, were farmers by profession. Both are sons of Sahaj Uddin from Tilli village in Saturia upazila.
Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Saturia Police Station, confirmed the incident, saying that law enforcement officials had visited the scene.
According to police and local sources, the brothers were working in their mustard field near their home A powerful lightning strike hit them, killing Zahid on the spot and critically injuring Zakir.
Zakir was immediately rescued and admitted to Manikganj Medical College Hospital for treatment. - UNB
