Bangladesh and Turkiye are set to take their bilateral relations to new heights, with both nations expressing a firm commitment to enhancing their partnership through collaborative efforts. This shared dedication was underscored during a key meeting in Ankara, where Bangladesh’s Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam met Turkiye’s Foreign Affairs Minister Hakan Fidan, as detailed in an official statement released today.

The meeting primarily aimed to bolster the bilateral relationship between the two nations by addressing existing issues and exploring fresh avenues for cooperation. According to the foreign ministry, the discussions are expected to bring about significant benefits, paving the way for stronger, more productive ties between Bangladesh and Turkiye.

“Bangladesh will be granted access to an extensive array of Turkiye's bilateral cooperation sectors, typically reserved for the country's closest allies,” the statement noted, highlighting the importance of this diplomatic development.

This significant step marks an optimistic new chapter in the diplomatic relations between the two countries, fostering increased collaboration, mutual support, and shared growth across a wide range of sectors.

Both advisers participated in the three-day Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025, held from April 11 to 13 in Antalya, Turkey. The forum, hosted by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, focused on the theme, “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World,” and was held under the patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The theme of this year’s forum reflects the urgent need for diplomacy to serve as a stabilizing force amid rising global divisions, emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue in today’s fragmented geopolitical landscape.
