Former MP Mohiuddin Ahmed passes away

Mohiuddin Ahmed, former  MP of Munshiganj-1, passed away on Tuesday evening  at United Hospital in Dhaka. He was 75.


Mohiuddin, who served for many years as president of the Sirajdikhan Upazila unit of Awami League and also a Liberation War organiser, breathed his last at the hospital around 6:30 pm, according to his family.

Family sources said he was admitted to the hospital due to illness.

Mohiuddin , three-time upazila chairman, and five-time union parishad chairman, is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.

His namaz-e-janaza  will be will be held at the field of Malkhangar School and College in Sirajdikhan and then  he will be laid to rest at the family graveyard in Kazirbagh.

Freedom fighter Abdul Quddus Dhiron Balen, commander of Sirajdikhan Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad and a member of the district BNP executive committee, said Mohiuddin Ahmed was widely respected and had a special place in the hearts of Sirajdikhan residents, reports UNB.
