
According to a DMP press release, the arrests included 27 suspects from the Ramna Division, 22 from Lalbagh, 48 from Wari, 72 from Motijheel, 45 from Tejgaon, 112 from Mirpur, 35 from Gulshan and 53 from Uttara Division.
During the drives, police recovered one foreign-made revolver, three rounds of ammunition, 30.54 kilograms of cannabis, 10,287 yaba tablets, 18 syringes and 24 needles used for pethidine injections, eight pieces of foil paper, two gas lighters and two bottle corks used for yaba consumption.
The recovered items also included 4,022 packets of cigarettes, 13 mobile phones, five banned leaflets, two cards, an old book, a notebook, counterfeit currency worth Tk 50,000, a cannabis-smoking pipe, one rescued victim, one truck, one private car, two CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 30 Antiven tablets believed to be used as intoxicants.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway, reports BSS.
