Dhaka, 16 April  - The Super Six phase of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) is set to kick off Thursday at different venues across the city with the team gearing up for the coveted title.

Defending Champions Abahani Limited and domestic powerhouse Mohammedan Sporting Club are in the favourable position to seal the title after finishing with joint highest 18 points from the group phase.

Even though Abahani had the better run rate, Mohammedan had the edge of winning the head-to-head battle between the two sides.

Gazi Group Cricketers, Gulshan Cricket Club, Agrani Bank and Legends of Rupganj are the four other teams which moved to the elite phase of the DPL. But given their situation in the point table, they have the slim chance to win the trophy. A lot of ifs and buts need to be fixed had they want to win the title.

In the first round of the Super Six, Mohammedan will take on Legends of Rupganj at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Abahani Limited will face off Agrani bank Cricket Club at BKSP-3 while Gazi Group Cricketers will lock horns with Gulshan Cricket Club at BKSP-4 ground.BSS
