Dhaka, 28 Aug - Opener Liton Das is yet to recover from his illness which he suffered all of a sudden, making him unlikely for the Bangladesh's first match against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup at Pallekele on Thursday.
If his condition improves and even if he boards the flight Tuesday, it will be tough for him to play the first match.
However, his illness is nothing serious as the medical department of
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) informed that Liton tested negative for dengue and his other reports also came out well.
Meanwhile, young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib boarded the flight for Colombo on 1:00pm today to join the Bangladesh team. He would have to take the road trip to Pallekele after reaching Colombo.
The 20-year-old made his way into the team for the first time as a
replacement pacer Ebadot Hossain who is yet to recover from his injury.
Sakib was supposed to board the flight along with the team yesterday but was unable to do so due to some ticketing complications.
