A woman, accused of hacking her husband to death in their home, Friday made confessional statement in the case lodged over the grisly incident.



A woman, accused of hacking her husband to death in their home, Friday made confessional statement in the case lodged over the grisly incident.

Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Mohammad Jasim recorded the statement of Mosammat Banu Begum under section 164 as police produced her before the court this noon. The court later sent her to jail.

Banu and her husband rickshaw puller Shamim Miah used to live in their slum house in Rayerbazar area. Shamim used to beat her regularly over dowry. In the early hours of June 22, Banu hacked her husband Shamim to death and called emergency number 999 for surrendering before the police.

Mohammadpur police arrived at the scene soon and arrested Banu.
