At least 12 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours despite an ongoing ceasefire, according to health authorities in Gaza.

The Gaza Ministry of Health said that at least eight people were killed and 17 others injured in Israeli attacks during the 24-hour period ending Thursday (July 9). It added that many victims remain trapped beneath rubble or in areas inaccessible to rescue and civil defence teams.

Medical sources reported that two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike on a house west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

In a separate incident, an Israeli strike targeting a civilian vehicle in the Al-Rimal neighbourhood of Gaza City killed one person and injured three others. Another drone strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza left one Palestinian dead and several others wounded.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, Israeli attacks carried out since the ceasefire came into effect have killed 1,092 Palestinians and injured 3,507 others as of July 9.

The ministry also said the overall death toll in Gaza since the war began on October 8, 2023, has risen to 73,118, while 173,615 people have been injured.

It further claimed that nearly 90 percent of Gaza's civilian infrastructure has been destroyed or damaged during the conflict.
