These are bank notes of Tk500, Tk200, Tk100, and Tk10 and currency notes of Tk5 and Tk2.
These notes highlight important historical, natural and cultural symbols of the country. Each note bears the signature of the new governor Ahsan Habib Mansur. Advanced security features have been added to the new notes, which will help prevent counterfeiting.
However, the central bank has said that the old notes will also continue to be valid.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Bank governor released new design and series of bank notes of Tk1000, Tk50 and Tk20. Which were issued to banks in a limited range for the first time on Sunday, reports UNB.
Customers will be able to exchange these notes from Monday, said the central bank. Bangladesh Bank has not been able to issue new notes as per demand. Therefore, these notes will not be available in district cities other than the capital before the Eid holidays.
