Badda wall collapse leaves two children dead

Two children died on Wednesday after a wall collapsed on them while they were playing in Uttar Badda area of the capital.

The deceased were identified as Ayesha Moni, 9, daughter of Iqbal from Yafedi area of Barura upazila in Cumilla, and Nusrat Akter, 6, daughter of Sharif Mia.

Both families were residing at a building at Purbo Anchal area of Uttar Badda.

Iqbal, father of Ayesha Moni, said the accident occurred around 11:30 am while the children were playing beside a road.

Suddenly, a wall of a nearby house collapsed on them, leaving both seriously injured.

Locals rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 12:45 pm where doctors pronounced them dead.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue, reports UNB.
