Motorcyclist killed in Sylhet road crash

A 19-year-old youth died as his bike crashed into a stationary truck on Sylhet-Tamabil Highway in Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet, said police on Friday morning.


The deceased was identified as Sayeed Hossain Fahim, son of expatriate Badrul Islam of Dema village in Darbast union of Jaintapur upazila.

According to highway police, the accident occurred at around 8pm on Thursday when Fahim was returning home on the bike from the Darbast Bazar Jame Mosque.

As he reached the area near Shrikhel Bhavna Jame Mosque along the highway, he lost control of the vehicle and hit the parked truck, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to Ibn Sina Hospital in Sylhet city where physicians declared him dead upon arrival, reports UNB. 

Officer-in-charge of Tamabil Highway Police Station Mohammad Habibur Rahman said legal action in this regard was underway.
