The Posts and Telecommunications Division has declared today as 'Free Internet Day', marking the observance of July Uprising Day.

All mobile phone subscribers in Bangladesh will receive 1 GB of free internet data, usable over the next five days.

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) confirmed that all mobile operators have been instructed to provide the free data to their customers in public interest.

According to the official notification from BTRC’s System and Services Department, this initiative commemorates the July Uprising and aims to fulfil the people's aspirations for greater connectivity. Mobile operators were directed on July 9 to implement the programme today.

To activate the free data, subscribers can use the following codes:

Grameenphone (GP): *121*1807#

Robi: *4*1807#

Banglalink: *121*1807#

Teletalk: *111*1807#

The Posts and Telecommunications Division said the free data offer will remain valid for five days from today.
