2 Dead in Road Accident in Ashulia's Leguna Area

Two passengers of a Leguna (human hauler) were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Jamgora road under Ashulia Thana here today.

The accident occurred in front of Fantasy Kingdom at Jamgora area at about 9:00 am when the leguna carrying the passengers felt into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering.

The deceased were identified as- Badrul Alam Gazi (60) and Riday (26). The detailes of the deceased were not immediately known, police said. Besies, two of the injured persons were identified as Bilkis Begum and Subrata Paul.

Kamal Hossain, Inspector (Investigation) of the Ashulia Thana told the reporters that the leguna started its journey for Bypile from Narsinghpur area with some passengers and felt into a roadside ditch near Fantasy Kingdom. Six passengers were trapped under the leguna and injured critically.

On hearing the hue and cry of the passengers, local people rushed to the spot and taken the victims to the nearby Women and Children’s hospital. Of the injured Badrul Alam Gazi and Riday were later declared dead by the attending doctors of the hospital, reports BSS.
