A truck helper was killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Bheramara upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Monir Hossain, 21, son of Suruj Ali of Sariakandi upazila in Bogura district.

The accident occurred in Dash Mile area under Bahirchar Union on the Kushtia-Ishwardi highway.

According to police and eyewitnesses, the truck was traveling along the highway when one of its front tires suddenly burst near the Dash Mile area.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into the opposite lane and collide head-on with a Kushtia-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan.

Monir Hossain, the truck helper, died on the spot.

Three other people sustained injuries in the crash. Local residents rescued the injured and sent them to Bheramara Upazila Health Complex, reports BSS.

Legal proceedings regarding the accident are currently underway, the OC added.
