Bangladeshi student died in road mishap in Canada

A 23-year Bangladeshi student was died and three others were injured in a tragic road mishap during the early hours of Friday (June 12th) in St. John’s in Canada

Md Istinab Mahie, the Bangladeshi student, sustained injuries in the collision and died on the spot. The remaining three occupants were brought to a hospital.

Md Istinab Mahie of Uttar Halish went to Canada Memorial University of Newfoundland to pursue higher education in September 2023, family sources said.

Meanwhile, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating an incident that police primarily say involved reckless driving.

According to police, the driver failed a roadside screening test and was issued a licence suspension. Investigators have launched a criminal investigation into the incident.

No additional details about those involved have been released.

Md Mohibe Ullah and Parvin Akhter, parents of the deceased student, have sought cooperation of the authorities concerned in bringing the body to the country.
