A man and his son were killed after their motorcycle crashed into the back of a truck on the Habiganj-Shayestaganj road on Saturday night.

The victims were identified as Abdul Qayyum, 55, and his son Zakir Hossain, 20, residents of Sultan Mahmudpur village under Habiganj municipality.

The accident occurred around 10pm in the Poddarbari area on the Habiganj-Shayestaganj road, reports UNB.

Zahid Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station, said Abdul Qayyum and his son were travelling towards Dhuliakhal on a motorcycle when the vehicle lost control and hit the rear of a truck, leaving both critically injured.

Locals rescued them and took them to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared them dead, added the OC.
