Bangladesh Condemns Israeli Interception of Gaza Flotilla
Bangladesh has strongly condemned the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters by Israeli forces. The flotilla was carrying essential humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza.
In a statement, the foreign ministry described the act as a “flagrant violation of international law” and a clear example of Israel using hunger as a weapon of war.
The statement called for the immediate and unconditional release of all detained humanitarian aid workers and activists, urging that their safety and well-being be ensured.
Bangladesh also pressed Israel to end its illegal occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, abide by international humanitarian law, and immediately cease what it termed as genocidal warfare and a humanitarian blockade in Gaza.
The ministry said the flotilla symbolises global solidarity with the Palestinian people, who continue to be denied their basic rights to life, dignity, and livelihood.
Reaffirming its position, the government said Bangladesh and its people stand in steadfast solidarity with Palestine during this time of grave suffering.
