The Government of India has directed all Pakistani citizens currently in the country to leave by April 29, following a recent terror attack it attributes to Pakistan. The announcement was made Thursday by the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
"In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect," the ministry stated. "All Pakistani nationals currently in India must depart before the expiry of their visas, as now amended."
The order does not apply to Pakistani diplomatic staff, although India had already instructed a reduction in their numbers a day earlier.
