At least seven people were killed and two others injured in a highway collision in eastern Afghanistan's Laghman province on Saturday evening, police said Sunday.

The accident occurred when a speeding vehicle collided with a three-wheeled motorcycle in the Mashli area of Qarghayi district, along the main highway connecting Kabul to the eastern provinces.

Seven people died on the spot, while two others sustained injuries, according to the provincial police office.

The deceased and the injured were transported to Laghman's provincial hospital for necessary procedures and treatment, reports UNB.
