Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Wednesday called for an immediate end to the war in Iran, blaming President Donald Trump’s erratic judgment and corruption for the conflict and recent Republican election losses in key states.

Speaking to reporters following Democratic successes, Schumer accused Trump of spending half his time on issues irrelevant to voters' lives while ignoring rising costs in healthcare, electricity, fuel, and diesel.

"Americans hate the direction our country is going in right now," Schumer said. "They want us to check on Trump’s chaos at home and abroad."

Highlighting American casualties at home and abroad, he stressed that the public does not understand what they are fighting for in Iran, declaring, "This war must end."

Schumer also warned that any further defiance of the law or the public's will would lead to investigations and "legislative razor wire," asserting that the days of a supplicant Senate under Trump are over, reports BSS.
