US Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro has called for accountability after Israeli settlers attacked Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine and Palestinian villagers.

“If the settlers will do this to an American journalist on camera, in broad daylight, imagine what Palestinian families face when no one is watching,” DeLauro wrote in a post on X.

“Those responsible for this attack must be held accountable.”

She was responding to a Washington Post report showing that masked Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villagers on Friday, setting olive groves on fire and throwing rocks, reports AL Jazeera.

Heidi Levine, who was caught in the attack, told the newspaper: “They just kept kicking me and kicking me, like probably 50 times.”
