Trump Says Fresh Iran Talks To Begin On Monday

US President Donald Trump has announced that a new round of negotiations with Iran will begin on Monday after he decided to postpone planned military strikes in favour of pursuing a diplomatic solution.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump said the talks would start on Monday afternoon as Washington seeks to engage Tehran through negotiations rather than military action.

"They don't want to be attacked. They knew the extent of the attack because they saw it forming," Trump said, explaining his decision to suspend the planned strikes.

The announcement signals a renewed diplomatic effort between the two countries amid ongoing tensions over Iran's nuclear programme and regional security issues.
