'Cheshta' honours 4 heroic women

A cultural programme followed the bestowing honour to 4 heroic women by Chesta at RAWA Club on 18 April 2026.

The honour programme was organized at Rawa Club in Dhaka on Saturday April 18 evening, a press release from the organization said.

Those who received honours were Rizia Khatun from Mymensingh, Firoza Begum from Savar in Dhaka, Fatema Ali and Amina Begum.

Laila Naznin Harun, wife of former army chief Lt Gen Harun-ur-Rashid, president of the organization formed with the slogan 'We are for humanity'.

She said, "Since its establishment, we have provided employment opportunities to more than 150 women on behalf of the organization.

"We are working with everyone's cooperation. We have built houses for many."

Gulshan Nasrin Chowdhury, general secretary of the organization, said, "This organization has had to overcome many obstacles and move forward with women. We are working for women's development as volunteers."

The reception ended with a pleasant cultural program.
