Like in many other parts of the country, winter has intensified its grip on capital Dhaka as dense fog shrouded premier city from early Sunday morning.

The sun remained hidden even at noon while cold winds blowing from the north and northwest intensified the chill, disrupting normal life.

Met Office recorded the minimum temperature at 14.3 degrees Celsius in Dhaka on Sunday.

The abrupt shift in weather patterns has disturbed the rhythm of urban life, leaving many struggling to cope with the biting cold.

According to the 120-hour weather forecast, moderate to dense fog will blanket the entire country from midnight until the following noon.

The thick fog has turned into an invisible wall disrupting transportation.

Even with headlights on, drivers are finding it difficult to see more than a few metres ahead.
